Holidays

Now that I'm rested I'll get back to posting about our holidays.

Christmas Eve we attended our church's service and dressed the kids to the "nines". Dean actually sat through the entire service with us and did really well. Of course, he loved the music the best. Abi on the other hand refused to sit still and thought being chased down the aisle was just barrels of fun, so she ended up in the nursery for the sermon part of the service. Some of Kyle's family joined us for the service, which made it all the more special. After service we came home and had our family "Christmas" as we were traveling the next morning. Dean and Abi were delighted with new dolls, books and a keyboard. In fact, they had a hard time focusing on the next present after the first one was open. I love that they don't expect much and are content with one gift. What a blessing. Hopefully we can continue that heart attitude as they get older.

Look how big they are getting!

You can tell they are related in this pic!

Abi was not wanting to stay on the couch for pictures and let us know about it!

Christmas Day we traveled up to Windsor, CO to my aunt's house and celebrated with my side of the family (or at least some of them). It was a wonderful relaxing time with tons of great food. I'm just hoping that I didn't gain even some of those tons! :) We stayed the night there and then traveled back in the next day. It was a lot of traveling for one week, but worth it to see family and friends.

Our New Year's plans got hijacked by Dean getting a bad chest cold. My husband had even let me go out and get a sassy maternity dress for our New Year's Eve party. Sadly we didn't get to go. So we enjoyed wontons, wassil, and wine here at home. The next day Dean still wasn't doing all that well so we had to cancel our plans to go to Kyle's parents' house. We had our lunch of kelbasa, potatoes, and saurkraut here and then they came over to our house in the afternoon. We played Acquire (at which I was soundly beaten) and Cities and Knights (I got my revenge here and beat them all!). We had more wontons and munchies for dinner. It was a very enjoyable time and a great way to ring in the New Year if stuck at home with a sick 2 year old!

Sounds like you guys had a great Christmas! Sorry about Dean not feeling well at the new year...I am guessing that he is back to his "old self" by now. They are both getting so big. :o)
