Day One is Abi's birthday. (side note*- prior to day one we did celebrate cousin Grace's birthday which counts as one of the birthdays.) I can't believe it's already been a year! Abi has grown into quite the little woman already and definitely has a mind of her own. Fortunately that is paired with a sweet disposition and love for life. Most of the time she is a happy and contented baby/toddler.
We had a small party for her at our house with grandparents and a few other family members. We kept it low key as both kids do better with just a few visitors and we just don't have that much room in our house. We had homemade pizza and cake! It was yummy and lots of fun for both Dean and Abi. Abi made a bigger mess with her cake then Dean did as a one year old, but still not all that messy. I guess I'm rubbing off on them! :)
Abi took her first steps during her birthday party which was great for everyone to see. She continues to take steps as long as she doesn't think about it too much. She just tends to get too excited and just plops down. I know it won't be too much longer until these days are a distant memory and she's cruising around like crazy.
I thank God for the blessing of her everyday. She brings a certain light and life into our family. Abi loves to laugh and I suspect will be quite the little prankster when she gets older. Despite the unexpected timing of her arrival, she is truly a gift from heaven!
