Emotions

I've never been a very emotional person, at least by my estimation. I am a female so I would guess I'm probably more emotional then most men, but as far as women go I consider myself fairly "even keel". So how is it then that I end up with two very sensitive emotional children? Dean, my son, seems to cry at the drop of a hat, especially when he senses pain or distress from another (compassion isn't a bad thing!). His almost hysterical crying will set his sister off and then I swear they just egg each other on. Yesterday, at my sister-in-law's house, we were trying to get a group picture of the cousins. When you have 8, four and under (with two on the way!) it's always a challenge to get them all sitting and happy. I'm not sure who started it but before long Colm (16mos) and Dean (2 yrs) are wailing. Abi (9 mos) then picks up on the distress and adds some of her own. How is it that BOTH my children are so hysterical? :) *sigh. It will make for funny stories later in life!

Dean (fourth from the left) and Colm (sixth from the left) wailing!

Abi joining in the fray!
