My Children...

My sis-in-law, Erin, has tagged me to share 8 things about my children. Hmmm.. I assume it's supposed to be things I haven't already talked about on here. That may be a bit of a challenge. I tend to talk a lot about my kids. Well here goes:

1. Dean is beginning to grasp more and more of the English language and cultural slang. He has learned "pee hew" and uses it at the appropriate times. He has also learned to say "shhh" with his finger to his lips. I've found that one particularly helpful when I am needing him to be quiet. Dean also likes to say "Hi" and will repeat it until you acknowledge him and say "hi" back. Too cute!

2. Abi is quite the talker. She talks far more then Dean ever did. Watch out! Our house is rarely going to be quiet. Sometimes when I'm listening to her on the monitor I have a hard time distinguishing her from Dean.

3. Dean is becoming more independent. He wants to feed himself with his utensils, brush his own teeth, and comb his hair. He often gets frustrated when we don't let him do it himself.

4. Abi loves to sit up. If she doesn't feel that she is sitting up high enough she will lift her head and try to sit up more. She is sitting in her Bumbo now and does pretty well for short intervals. After awhile though she gets tired. It's quite a workout for her.

5. Dean is pretty good about picking up his toys. I usually only make him pick up once a day before bed. Since he has gotten used to that routine, he has done really well. He knows where all his toys, books, and balls go, so as long as we help he does a great job.

6. Abi is still not taking a bottle. She took one early on and then because I didn't need for her to take a bottle I didn't give her one. My mistake. Now she won't take it at all. I have gotten her to suck on one of the cheap nipples they give you at the hospital, but the huge stash of bottles that I have from Dean she won't use at all. I dread the idea of going through a bazillion bottles just to find the one she "likes" and yet I do want to be able to get out for longer then two- three hours at a time! Any suggestions? :)

7. Dean loves Winnie the Pooh. He rarely watches TV and when he does it's not often that it holds his attention for very long. The only thing that he will sit and watch all the way through virtually without moving is his Winnie the Pooh video that he got from Auntie Em. Some days that video is truly a life-saver!

8. Abi loves her hands. She is at the stage of discovering her hands and will gaze at them for minutes on end. She also loves to suck on them and though she has discovered her thumb and sucks on it occasionally, she has yet to develop the habit.

So those are my eight... I now tag Wendy, Amanda, LaRae, Sarah J, and Sarah G to post 8 things about their kids!
