The difference between Boys and Girls.
Yes, I've known for awhile that there are many differences between the sexes but just recently I'm realizing another one. Girls are truly more verbal and seek to learn different things then boys. Dean is surrounded by girl friends and cousins and I am prone to wonder if he is a little behind when I look at all they know (colors, words, shapes, and overall vocabulary). What I've come to understand though is that Dean is not behind, he's just simply not that interested in those things yet. He wants to make noise, run, jump, wrestle, knock things over and on the rare occasion when he wants to be quiet he'll sit and "read". He understands a lot more then he can communicate in English. I say that because he seems to have his own language and no matter how much I try to teach him the correct words for things (as the Dr instructed) he continues to use his words. I find it most amusing when he'll combine the two "languages". He'll be reading a book in his "language" and all of a sudden I'll hear an English word pop out. Too cute! So I guess boys will be boys and there is no use in trying to alter that. I just need to stop fretting and relax!:)
