We celebrated a nice quiet Christmas at home. In the weeks prior to Christmas, I talked my loving husband into repainting our downstairs family room and hanging new lights to give it a warmer feel and a nice place to spend Christmas. He did a fantastic job and I can't wait to tackle other projects around the house.
Our newly painted fireplace with new embroidered stockings.
Our gorgeous live tree. It has been awhile since we've had a live tree this big!
The kids were blessed with many nice gifts and were grateful for them all. I was very proud of the fact that they seemed quite content after the first few and had to be encouraged to open the rest. I can't really take credit for their lack of consumerism as I think it's happened more by default then intention; but I must say it did my heart good to see them focus on the real meaning of Christmas and not just the loot they were getting.
We had some of Kyle's family over Christmas night for games and did enjoy a traditional meal with just the kids earlier in the day. We had tried to find some friends at church who didn't have a place to go to come over, but as it turned out everyone had plans. Oh well! :)
J, D and A opening presents from the Francis side of the family on Christmas eve.
They were enthralled by the Pez dispensers from Aunt Mindy.
D and his new Veggie Tale from Grandma Francis
A and her new book from Grandma Francis
J already diving into his new books
If she weren't holding a book you might think this was a mug shot or something. Silly girl!
Of course the candy gets her to smile!
