Family Life

I can't believe it's already been a month since I last blogged. July went by so fast but I'll try to recap as best as possible.

Illnesses
July started with Abi getting a cold on July 3rd. She gave it to Dean a couple of days later and then he past it onto Jack. While it was simply a junkie cough and runny nose for Dean and Abi, it turned serious for little Jack. He ended up at the Children's Hospital at Memorial with RSV (a cold virus) the weekend of July 10th. Coincidentally Kyle was out of town on a camping trip that weekend and didn't even know about Jack being in the hospital. It was a whirlwind weekend, but by July 19th everyone was back in good health. Jack finally got off the home O2 this past week.

Family Vacation
All the kids got better just in time for us to go on our first five-member family vacation. A cousin of mine got married up in northern colorado. We decided to make a vacation out of the weekend and stayed in a hotel in Greeley. It was quite an adventure with 5 of us in one room. Needless to say we didn't get much sleep. It was great to see extended family and just have a fun weekend. We took advantage of the hotel pool frequently and Dean ate his fill of waffles from the hotel provided breakfast. We probably won't be doing that again any time soon though as we came home needing a vacation from our vacation.

Potty Training
We finally have found an "ideal" time to train Dean. Ideal meaning Jack is sleeping through the night and everyone is healthy. We are on day 3 and so far it's been pretty good. Only an average of an accident per day so far. We even ventured out today to the library and the park without any incident. Dean used the public restroom at the park too. I think the most challenging part is Abi's insistence that she go potty too. Of course all she really wants is the treats and has yet to go pee. It is hard to resist her though when she is crying "Please, potty!" I figure once Dean is trained then I can work on Abi. With Dean going every 5-10 while awake I simply don't have time for two!

I really can't believe the summer is almost over and kids are heading back to school. We don't really know what this fall holds, but are trusting God to lead us.
